LASO is currently executing another highly complex international project, this time in San Pancrazio Salentino, Italy, reinforcing its presence in the wind transport sector and its logistics management capacity on a European scale.
The operation involves the transport of 27 wind turbine blades, each measuring 79.8 meters long, 5.01 meters wide, and 3.45 meters high. For this challenge, LASO used Blade Lifter equipment, essential technology for the safe transport of large wind turbine components on roads with steep inclines and sharp curves.
The route, covering more than 60 kilometers from the port to the final destination, presents demanding conditions, crossing urban and rural areas that require meticulous planning and constant coordination between the teams involved.
Among the main technical challenges are language barriers, as the project brings together a Chinese client, Spanish and French drivers, and Italian subcontracted teams, tree clearing, the relocation of electrical cables, and constant intervention by local authorities, who ensure traffic control and the safe passage of the blades.
The operation is conducted by two LASO teams, with three operators each, supported by four local drivers per vehicle and with the direct involvement of LASO Italy, LASO Portugal, LASO France, and LASO Spain, in close collaboration with local partners.
The project, scheduled to last five weeks, stands out for its logistical and technical complexity, requiring rigorous international coordination and a strong ability to adapt to different operational and cultural contexts.
“This project represents another milestone in LASO’s international operations, highlighting our technical know-how and the strength of collaboration between teams from different countries. Every kilometer traveled reinforces our commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation in exceptional transport.”
– André Sequeira and José Gouveia, project managers.
With this operation, LASO once again demonstrates its leadership and versatility in the transport of wind turbine components, consolidating its position as a European benchmark in exceptional transport and integrated logistics solutions.
