LASO Transportes has been nominated for the Heavy Lift Awards 2026 in the ‘Overland Transport Provider of the Year’ category.
This nomination follows the transport of the Tunnel Boring Machine – a historic operation that stood out for its technical complexity – carried out by LASO in September of last year for the Lisbon General Drainage Plan.
Measuring 95.9 meters in length, 7.85 meters in width, and 7.13 meters in height, with a total weight of 637 tons, the Tunnel Boring Machine traveled the route between Santa Apolónia and Beato in Lisbon, putting the field team’s coordination, planning, and execution capabilities to the ultimate test.
The Heavy Lift Awards ceremony will take place in London, UK, on October 21st, with LASO in attendance.
